Police apprehend over 1,000 curfew violators in Central Luzon

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — Police apprehended over 1,000 curfew violators as it strictly implements the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in Central Luzon.

Local government units have imposed the 8:00PM to 5:00AM curfew hours to force the public to stay in their homes to prevent the wide spread of coronavirus disease.

Police Regional Director PBGen. Rhodel Sermonia said violators were taken to the police stations where they were assessed fines as penalty for violating the curfew hours and were advised to go home.

Sermonia continues to appeal for public cooperation, encouraging them to stay home if they have no business going outside.

“We are doing all we can to protect everyone but we also need your cooperation to protect each other to fight the virus,” he added.

ECQ, meant to curb the rising number of cases of COVID-19, will be implemented in the entire Luzon from March 17 to April 13.
