Porac under state of calamity

Porac Mayor Carling dela Cruz has declared the town under state of calamity after a 6.1 magnitude quake jolted his town, leaving four casualties.

According to Dela Cruz, he directed Vice Mayor Dexter David and members of the Sangguniang Bayan to convene to declare the town under state of calamity.

This after a four-storey building that houses the Chuzon Supermarket collapsed.

As of 8:30 pm Monday, four have been reported dead after being trapped inside the collapsed supermarket.

At least 40 are reportedly missing as of press time.

Joint rescue operations of the Provincial Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Office, Porac Rescue team and Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) are still ongoing.
