Roman’s ‘Concierto para sa Bayan’ depicts PHL history

ORANI, Bataan — Bataan 1st District Representative Geraldine B. Roman celebrated her 52nd birthday on a Tuesday evening filled with various genres of music via the “Concierto Para sa Bayan.”

Held at the Orani People’s Park, the grand event was filled with classical, modern and pop music with the Metro Manila Concert Orchestra being conducted by Conductor Jonathan Cruz.

The more than two-hour musical program was hosted by Congresswoman Geraldine B. Roman and Orani municipal mayor Efren “Bondjong” Pascual Jr.

The production team was directed by Special Assistant to the Mayor, Billy Ventura and was also assisted by Cong. Roman’s best friend, former Dinalupihan Councilor Noli Soriano.

Roman said, in an interview with the local press, that she wanted the people of Orani to experience this different kind of entertainment and at the same time, educating them of what really transpired in history from the Spanish era, American and Japanese times to the present.

“First time ng mga taga Orani na makapanood ng ganitong klaseng entertainment,” Roman quips.

Mayor Pascual, on the other hand, said the Concierto was part of the week-long celebration of the  305th year anniversary of the municipality of Orani.

Roman’s relatives and friends from the public service and politics also attended and fully supported the big event namely Mayor Gene M. Dela Fuente and Vice Mayor Aida Macalinao of Samal, Orani Vice Mayor Bong Galicia, Councilor Em Roman and other Orani SB members, village chiefs, DPWH 1st District Engr. Erlindo “Boying” Flores, Atty. Jomar Gaza, et.al. and friends from the local media and the religious sector.
