Slain dad’s daughter running for vice mayor under Kambilan

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO—The daughter of slain Sasmuan Councilor Jesus “Boyet” Angeles is running for vice mayor to continue her father’s service to the town.

Anney May Angeles, 25, last week filed her certificate of candidacy under Kambilan, the political party that has chosen the elder Angeles as its vice mayoral candidate days before he was attacked last Oct. 6.

Jesus Angeles, 51, was stabbed and shot as he was jogging at past 6 a.m. in Barangay Sta. Lucia. He was the number one councilor in Sasmuan.

Anney May on Monday asked Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda, Kambilan vice chair, to help bring her father’s killers to justice.

Earlier, the vice governor put up a reward of P500,000 to informants who could provide valid information on the identities and whereabouts of the killers and mastermind.

Anney May has expressed suspicion that the local police’s investigation could have been compromised because a possible suspect has been spared from questioning after a local candidate met with the municipal police.

She said Senior Supt. Nicolas Salvador, Pampanga police director, should send a separate investigating team to conduct an independent, serious and all-out probe of the killing.
