SM City Olongapo Downtown has joined the Special Job Fair for Senior Citizens, Persons with Disabilities and Indigenous People in support to Public Employment Service Office’s(PESO) “Kasama Ka Kaibigan” project, an exclusive job fair to provide employment opportunities for PWD’s in accordance with RA 10524 (An Act Expanding the positions reserved for PWDs, amending for the purpose Republic Act 7277, For Senior Citizens per Section 5 of RA 9257 or the Expanded Senior Citizens Act of 2003 and for Indigenous People in Pursuant to Section 80 of Republic Act No. 8371, otherwise known as “The Indigenous Peoples’ Rights Act of 1997” (IPRA).
At present, SM has senior employees who function as greeters at the mall entrance, restroom and cinema. Over a hundred applicants submitted their resume at SM booth alone, hoping to get a slot in the company.
With the coming of SM City Olongapo Central, the second SM mall in Olongapo more job opportunity is in store to local residents and the nearby province of Bataan and Zambales.(30)
