Social services offer in ‘Kapihan at Talakayan sa Barangay’

The City Government of San Fernando headed by Mayor Edwin ‘EdSa’ Santiago conducted its community-based program dubbed ‘Kapihan at Talakayan sa Barangay’ on April 6 at Brgy. Telabastagan.

Residents of the said barangay availed the social services offered by the local government such as free laboratory tests, medical-dental check-up and distribution of Philhealth Member Registration Form through the City Health Office.

While the City Social Welfare and Development Office and Office of the Senior Citizen Affairs gave application forms in availing Senior Citizen, PWD and Solo Parent ID. Distribution of purchase booklet and movie passbook to some senior citizens of the said barangay was also conducted.

Pet owners were also given a chance to avail the free anti-rabies vaccination for their dogs through the City Agriculture and Veterinary Office.

Other social services were the issuance and renewal of Fernandino Access Card, distribution of employment training and livelihood application forms and scholarship assessment for City College and other scholarship programs of the local government.

Meanwhile, residents of the said barangay enjoyed the fun and entertainment activities spearheaded by the City Environment and Natural Resources Office and availed the free haircut, manicure, pedicure and back massage.

In his speech, Mayor Edwin ‘EdSa’ Santiago stressed the importance of implementing inclusive and appropriate programs that aims to improve the lives of the Fernandinos.

“Inilalapit namin ang gobyerno sa mamamayan upang ipakilala at ihatid sa inyo ang mga iba’t-ibang serbisyo publiko na tiyak naming makakatulong sa inyo, dahil hangad namin na maibigay ang inyong mga karapatan at magkaroon ng maayos na pamumuhay dito sa Syudad San Fernando,” Santiago said.

Also present during the program were Vice Mayor Jimmy Lazatin, Brgy. Captain Elmer Manguerra (Telabastagan), OIC- City Environment and Natural Resources Office Regina Rodriguez, OIC- City Social Welfare and Development Office Aileen Villanueva, PESO Manager Donny Sayre and Educational Scholarship Assistance Program (ESAP) Head Jayson Caguiat.
