CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — PATROL Partylist Rep. Jorge Antonio P. Bustos have extended help to the people of Batangas particularly lawmen following the eruption of Taal volcano.

Bustos, who led a pack of volunteers from Pampanga, motored straight to Police Regional Office 4-A regional headquarters at Canlubang, Laguna for humanitarian mission including  distribution of foods and non-foods items to members of the Batangas Police Office.

“The event is a fitting gesture to our policemen who have been displaced by the eruption of Taal volcano and to keep their morale high that inspite of the recent disaster, they remained and stayed with their sworned duties to help others unmindful of their own safety and needs,” said Bustos.

In cooperation with the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo (KKDT), the group assembled at Camp Olivas and hit the road at exactly 3am on Monday. They were welcome by officer and men of PRO4-A headed by police Brig. Gen. Vicente Danao.

Last month, the PRO3 headed by Police Brig. Gen. Rhodel Sermonia and some non-government organizations in Central Luzon, sent truckloads of relief goods to Batangas Provincial Police Office (BPPO) for its personnel affected by the disaster.

“Policemen especially those in Batangas were also victims of volcano eruption. Just like other calamity victims, cops also need aid as morale booster,” Bustos added.

Since the eruption of Taal Volcano, different organizations including government and non-government have rushed to the aid of displaced people housed in evacuation centers all over the province.

Pampanga Governor Dennis Pineda and Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) team was one among those who quickly responded during the first call for help by the Batanguenos.

On Wednesday (Jan 28), Pineda returned to Batangas on convoy with truckloads of relief goods backed by medical personnel.
