SSS gives assistance to victims of Resorts World incident

Following the untoward incident that occurred in Pasay City last week which took the lives of 37 individuals based on latest news reports, the Social Security System (SSS) on Monday said victims and family members may file their claims applications in the two help desks set up in the funeral parlors were the victims were brought to.

SSS said a help desk was set up in the two funeral parlors, namely Veronica and Rizal Funeral Parlor, to facilitate immediately the casualties’ claims. SSS initially wanted to setup the help desk in the Resorts World premises but the hotel is still in a lockdown.

Injured individuals, meanwhile, which were brought to San Juan de Dios and Pasay General Hospital, were given SSS forms and were instructed properly on the requirements needed for filing.

SSS had also coordinated with the management of Resorts World Manila and Marriott Hotel and were provided with the official list of the 13 employees and their addresses and 22 guests who died in the incident to conduct immediate investigation or fact of death on the wake of casualties that were not interviewed on the two funeral parlors. The casino management is yet to identify two additional casualties recovered from the incident.
