‘Takbo Kawaning Fernandino Year 4’

Around 100 employees in the local government of San Fernando participated in the “Takbo Kawaning Fernandino Year 4” held September 14 in line with the city’s celebration of the 117th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary.

Open to both male and female, the run was divided into three age groups namely A: 20 to 30 years old, B: 31 to 40 years old, and C: 41 years old and above. Its categories include 3k and 5k.

Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago, together with City Human Resource Development Officer Rachelle Yusi and Chief of Police P/Supt Roland Agohob, lead the awarding of winners for the 5k race male category during the “Takbo Kawaning Fernandino Year 4” on September 14.

Winners in the 5k race for male category were Erwin Manese (A), Jayson Mallari (B), and Jason Caguiat (C). For the 3k race, the winners were Mark Alvin Salvador (B) and Albert Mayled (C).

For the 5k race for female category, the top finishers were Nori Amargo (A), Jenelyn Gantan (B) and Rowena Esguerra (C). While Joanna Aquino and Rosanna Laconico were awarded for topping the list for 3k’s B and C categories, respectively.

All those who made it in the top 15 finishers per category also received cash prizes from the local government.

During the program, City Human Resource Development Officer Rachelle Yusi said the activity seeks to promote healthy lifestyle as well as build camaraderie which are essential keys in a workplace.

“Enjoy this day and grab the chance to bond and know more about your colleagues in the city hall premises,” Yusi added.

For his part, Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago lauded the employees for marking the success of the activity and stressed that this is a good indication of unity among employees.

“It is important that government employees work together towards a common goal because this also reflect their efficiency as public servants,” Santiago said.
