TESDA distributes food packs, face masks in Bataan

BALANGA CITY (PIA) — Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) distributed food packs and face masks to frontline workers stationed at checkpoints and hospitals in Bataan.

TESDA Provincial Director Julie Ann Banganan said the project is their tribute to frontline workers who are considered as today’s modern heroes.

“During the present time, frontliners such as health workers, men and women in uniform and the others are comparable to heroes of the past war for risking their lives to save us in the war against an unseen enemy, the coronavirus disease,” Banganan said.

With this, about 50 packs of rice noodles and 50 pieces of rice cakes were already distributed Monday to barangay officials and police officers in Balanga City.

Moreover, trainees and graduates of TESDA Regional Training Center in Mariveles produced a total of 130 pieces of face masks for workers who are at high risk of being infected by the virus.

“The 50 pieces face masks were given to medical workers at Mariveles Mental Wellness and General Hospital, another 50 pieces were provided to employees and front liners at the Administration Building of Freeport Area of Bataan in Mariveles, while 20 pieces and 10 pieces of face masks were handed to police officers at checkpoints in Balanga City and Orani town, respectively,” Banganan disclosed.

Prior to this, frontline workers in Orion town received similar food packs from TESDA-Bataan.
