CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Don Honorio Ventura Technological State University (DHVTSU) Men’s Basketball Team forces a rubber match against Mary the Queen College (MQC) after defeating the latter with the score of 80-78 in the Universities and Colleges Athletic Association of Pampanga (UCAAP) Finals Game Two held at Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center.
DHVTSU led in the first half of the game until a late run from MQC drew the fans breathless and made the game more interesting. In the dying seconds of the game, it was tied at 78 a piece before DHVTSU wrapped up the game with the game-winning jumpshot.
With the series tied at 1-1, a Game Three is scheduled on November 12 at Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center.
Former Philippine National Police Director and now Director General of the Bureau of Corrections Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa graced the game together with Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda, Vice-Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda, Minalin Mayor Edgardo Flores, Arayat Mayor Emmanuel “Bon” Alejandrino, and Board Members Rosve Henson, Cherry Manalo and Fritzie David-Dizon.
Members of the Mythical Five from the Juniors and Seniors Division were also awarded.
In the Juniors Division, Renz Nicdao, Jiam Quiambao, Jake Figueroa, Francis Ian Yumul, and Ian Jolo Manansala were named members of the Mythical Five. Manansala was also hailed as the Most Valuable Player.
Cyrus Antisa, Roel Perez, Bryan Santos, Raven Garcia and Joseph Francisco were named in the Mythical 5 in the Seniors Division while Antisa was hailed MVP. –PHILIP OCAMPO
