Vice Guv Delta distributes aid to kids of PWDs, day care workers

City of San Fernando— The Office of Vice Governor Dennis ‘Delta’ Pineda distributed a total amount of P426,000 to 57 children of daycare workers (DCWs) and 85 children of persons with disability (PWDs) as part of the educational and financial assistance program of the provincial government.

The children received P3,000 each.

The distribution that took place at the Benigno Aquino Hall Capitol Compound yesterday was led by 3rd District Board Member Ananias ‘Jun’ Canlas and Angelina Blanco, provincial disaster risk reduction and management officer (PDRRMO).

According to Kelvin Paul Sanchez, administrative officer V of the office of the vice governor, the scholarship program started in 2013 with only 500 scholars but to date, the scholars reached to more than 10,000.

Canlas told the scholars that vice governor wants the students to study harder and give importance to the opportunities coming their way like the scholarship grants.

“I want you to be an inspiration to others so they could emulate you and do what you are doing as scholars of the government,” he said
Canlas added that the vice governor is urging you to stay away from illegal drugs. “That is the only thing the vice governor is asking you and nothing more,” he told the children of PWD and DCWs.

The office of the vice governor is also extending assistance to public senior high school K-12 students and also providing financial assistance to teachers pursuing a masters degree at Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVTSU).
