A week after the attempted murder on the Pampanga Provincial Legal Officer in the City of San Fernando, the authorities are still in the woods as to who wants him dead.
Tubig was shot inside his BMW car in front of the Makabali Hospital in broad daylight by still unidentified gunman on April 17. He sustained gunshot wounds.
Tubig has survived the assassination attempt and was rushed to the nearest hospital for treatment by responding lawmen.
Police authorities have recovered empty cal. 45 shells near Tubig’s BMW car with plate number TOW-298, which bore bullet holes in the front passenger side.
Tubig, a native of Macabebe, Pampanga, is a former member of the Sanggunian Panlalawigan and also served as former president of the Pampanga Liga ng mga Barangay. He has no known enemies.
P1 Million Reward
Meanwhile, Pampanga Governor Dennis Pineda has offered a P1 million reward for anyone who can name the identities of the gunman and mastermind in the slay try.
Said Gov. Pineda: “Isang milyong piso po ang pabuya na aking ibibigay sa sinumang makakapagbigay ng tamang impormasyon ukol sa mga pangalan at lokasyon ng mga salarin.”
Gov. Pineda has already instructed Pampanga Police Director Col. Levy Hope Basilio to investigate the shooting incident and identify the perpetrators of the assassination attempt against Atty. Tubig. “Hinihingi ko po ang inyong mga dasal para ma-survived ni Atty. Tubig ang pangyayaring ito at makabalik siya sa kanyang pamilya,” sais Gov. Pineda.
Gov. Pineda has condemned the slay attempt against Atty. Tubig saying that “violence has no place in our democratic system.” “Ang tangkang pagpatay kay Atty. Tubig ay laban sa utos ng Diyos. Ang karahasan ay hindi dapat ginagawa sa ating demokrasya.” –iOrbit News Team
