Multi-titled coach Yeng Guiao is now the head coach of NLEX, a move that is seen to propel the Road Warriors to new heights at the PBA.

Guiao led Rain or Shine into two championships in his six-year run with the team that the finals six times. Guiao won a total of five championships with two other expansion franchises – two with RFM Swift and three with Red Bull.

After a series of meeting with PLDT and Smart big boss Manny V. Pangilinan, Guiao has finally cut the deal on a transfer to NLEX.

Guiao’s deal with one of three MVP franchises in the pro league paved the way for the departure of Boyet Fernandez, who handled NLEX in its first two years in the league.

Guiao bid goodbye to Rain or Shine co-owners Terry Que and Raymond Yu before coming to terms with NLEX officials on a three-year deal.

The feisty coach has a reputation of turning marginal teams into champions.
