Clark-Nueva Vizcaya route to start on May 17

Wakay Air will launch regular flights to Bagabag Airport in Nueva Vizcaya, the gateway to the Banaue Rice Terraces.

The Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC) confirmed Wakay Air operations at the CRK will start this May 17 for the CRK-Bagabag (Nueva Vizcaya) route.

CIAC said it will be easier now to go to the world-famous Banaue Rice Terraces as Wakay Air will soon fly regularly from the Clark International Airport (CRK) to Nueva Viscaya.

Wakay Air, the company that offers chartered flights to Basco, Batanes, will mount the CRK-Bagabag flights every four days using a Dornier aircraft with a 31-passenger seating capacity.

From Manila, it normally takes about eight hours of land travel to the Banaue Rice Terraces in Ifugao. From Nueva Viscaya, it will take an hour and forty minutes to reach the Banaue Rice Terraces.

The airline has no local individual bookings as of this time. All reservations are package tours amounting to USD1,000 per person for four days and three nights, including domestic airfares, hotel and city tour.

Wakay Air is an Ivatan-owned company serving travelers, initially to and from Batanes, and later on, to various destinations in the Philippines, in partnership with AirSWIFT Transport Services Inc.
