Eighteen dump trucks loaded with over 250 tons of illegally quarried and transported landfill materials were intercepted by authorities of the Bulacan Environment and Natural Resources Office (BENRO) in Barangay Pio Cruzcosa in Calumpit town on Wednesday.
BENRO chief Elizabeth Apresto, said the trucks loaded with Bentonite landfill materials was intercepted around 7AM by BENRO Watchmen and would be taken to a relocation site in Calumpit town.
Bulacan Governor Daniel Fernando ordered Apresto to immediately file charges against the truck owners and identified as a certain Richard Cayetano, Roderick Cayetano and Rowena Cayetano.
Fernando said, the said confiscated landfill materials were illegaly quarried in San Miguel town as the owners of the truck failed to present Delivery Receipt from the provincial givernment and other permits such as hauling and transport permit from lical barangay and municipality.
The truck owners will be charged of Violation of Provincial Ordinance C-0052011 or Revised Environment Code of 2011.Apresto said, they will be fined of P10,000 each truck and confiscation of the said materials intercepted.
