25-hectare world-class theme park breaks ground in Lubao

LUBAO, Pampanga— A 23-hectare world-class theme park on Monday broke ground at the tourism estate of Pradera Verde, Prado Siongco here.

The groundbreaking ceremony of the Pradera Islands theme park was led by businessman Rodolfo “Bong” Pineda along with his children Pampanga Governor Dennis Pineda, 2nd district Board Member Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab and youngest daughter Rosselle Pineda.

The 23-hectare is allotted for the amusement park, 13-hectare for speed and 1.2 hectare kilometer runway intended for a flying club.

The amount for the whole project is not yet disclosed, as of press time.

In an interview with Board Member Cayabyab said the soon to rise theme park at Pradera Verde will boost the tourism industry of Pampanga particularly Lubao.

“We would like to thank Tatay (Rodolfo Pineda) for putting up Pradera Islands theme park into reality. This amusement park will be of big help to boost the tourism economy of Pampanga. And we are happy that Pampanga has another destination that they could offer, “ Cayabyab furthered.

Pradera Verde for three years now had hosted hot air balloon, golf tournaments wakeboarding contests, and motor shows.

Cayabyab said the world-class facilities’ completion is set in 2021. While the runway for ultra-light planes is currently being paved.
