500 Filipinos of ‘Princess’ ship from Japan to be quarantined in NCC

The 500 Filipino crew of cruise ship ‘Princess’ from Yokohama, Japan will undergo a 14-day quarantine period at the New Clark City (NCC), following standard protocol against the COVID-19 virus. 

According to Capas Mayor Rey Catacutan, all 500 Filipinos were tested negative of the COVID-19 virus after a rigorous medical examination by the Japanese government, however her furthered the quarantine at the NCC is to assure public safety. 

“Ang quarantine ay naglalayong masigurado ng walang alinlangan na negatibo sa covid 19 ang mga kababayan nating galing sa barkong Princess. The entry of capas through new clark city as the ideal venue for a 5 star like quarantine comes at a time where LGU Capas did a massive information drive regarding covid 19, whilst at the same time extended mitigation measures to allay the fears of Capaseños against Ncov,” he said

Catacutan assured the public his willingness to assert support for “humanitarian purpose, over and above parochial issue.”  

In line with this, he aims to spearhead various education and mitigation activities such as providing protective masks, medicines, alcohols and a semi- permanent medical team within the communities surrounding the New Clark City.He further appealed to the Department of Health and the Bases Conversion and Development Authority to assist in assuring public safety.  —Victoria Harris
