LAUR, Nueva Ecija (PIA) — A total of 515 families in this municipality received rice aid through the first cycle of the Assistance to Indigent Individuals or Families – Rice Distribution Program (AIIF-RDP), benefiting vulnerable households in Barangays I and II.

The initiative forms part of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s Bawat Bayan Makikinabang program, with each qualified beneficiary receiving a 10-kilogram pack of rice funded through the FY 2026 Local Government Support Fund – Financial Assistance to Local Government Units (LGSF-FALGU).

The distribution was led by the Municipal Government of Laur under the leadership of Mayor Benjamin A. Padilla, with technical assistance and monitoring support from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Nueva Ecija.

In a statement, DILG Nueva Ecija said the LGSF-FALGU empowers local government units (LGUs) to implement development and social assistance programs that directly benefit their constituents.

The agency added that implementing the AIIF-RDP reflects the partnership and coordination between the national government and LGUs in delivering assistance to communities.

It also noted that the rice aid helps ease families’ household food expenses while contributing to their food security. (CLJD/MAECR, PIA Region 3-Nueva Ecija)
