75-hectare racing circuit to rise in Lubao

LUBAO, Pampanga – Talks are ongoing for the putting up of a world-class racing circuit, both for motorcycle and car, at the 75-hectare lot situated within the Pradera Verde Estate here.

This after blueprint of the plans and designs have been presented to RQP Resources, the owner of Pradera Verde, Friday where cars and motorcycle racings enthusiasts graced the event.

“This is totally different patterned after international standards where grand prix and Formula 1 championship including motorcycle race would be held soon,” said Hermann Tilke, of Tilke Engineering, a Germany Technology which specializies in developing race tracks across the globe.

The project, Tilke said cost million of dollars as materials for he construction of the race tracks wil be shipped from other countries.

“I can’t give you the exact cost of the project but this is a huge development coming to your place. This is special because it is situated in the Philippines,” Tilke told reporters shortly afte he delivered brief explanation design with the RQP management held at the view deck of the Wake Board Park Resort, also within tje Pradera Verde Estate.

Tilke Engineering was the developer of Formula 1 world championship race tracks in Penang, Malaysia, it was gathered.

Other facilities to be constructed within the 75-hectare development includes housing units commercial establisents, fire fighting station, medical station and media bleacher where sports journos, who will cover championship races, will stay, said Tilke.

Pradera Verde is a 400-hectare development in this town. It is envisioned to become a world-class integrated resort with a 36 hole golf course, (now operational), Residential Subdivision lots with Fairway views, a natural Swimming park, a theme park and a 60 Hectare Wakeboard Park Resort which is currently the biggest Wakeboard water body in Southeast Asia (Opens March 2014).

The project is targeted towards the local Philippine market which consists of Metro Manila and Region 3 (Aurora, Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Tarlac, and Zambales) and regional markets.

Clark International Airport is located 40 mins away from the property.
Pradera Verde Racing Circuit should be able to hold grand prix, international, local and club events and will have four track configurations. It is slated to have at the very least FIA Grade 2 rating but Mr Tilke says it’s suitable for Formula 1 as well.

Future plans also include karting track and drag strip that conforms to the highest international standards. It can hold up to 100,000 spectators.
