In an effort to reach out to the grassroots, the City Government of San Fernando launched this year’s ‘Talakayan at Kapihan sa Barangay’ in Brgy. Maimpis over the weekend.
Mayor Edwin ‘EdSa’ Santiago said the activity is aimed at bringing the local government closer to the people by making them aware of the city’s current plans and programs.
“This is also an opportunity for the residents to raise their issues and concerns in their respective barangays,” he added.
Aside from the consultation, the city mayor also led the blessing of different newly completed projects in Barangay Maimpis with an estimated total cost of P24 million.
This includes the 2 recently constructed classroom buildings at Maimpis Integrated School; Rehabilitated classrooms at Maimpis Elementary School; Renovated Health Center; Improved and Upgraded roads in the streets of Pamana and Marzan; and Improved pathway and lined canals in Agoncillo Street.
There is also an ongoing clearing and desilting of waterways project at the Regional Government Center located in the said barangay.
For his part, Barangay Captain Romeo Dizon expressed his gratitude to the Santiago administration for the untiring support to their community-based projects.
“Napakalaki pong bagay ng mga proyektong ito lalo na sa aming mga kabaranggay. Makakaasa po kayo na ang lahat ng ito ay aming pakaka-ingatan,” Dizon added.
Also present during the activity were Vice Mayor Jimmy Lazatin and Councilors BJ Lagman and Harvey Quiwa.
