BALER, Aurora — Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Aurora currently visits various Senior High Schools in the province to educate students on ASEAN.
“This is part of our yearlong hyping of the Philippine Chairmanship of ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations). We wish to inform the students of the benefits of the regional bloc and how they can avail of those benefits,” PIA Aurora Information Center Manager Joselito Libranda said.
“It features discussions on the history of ASEAN, goals of the Philippine chairmanship, and background on the Political-Security, Economic, and Socio-Cultural Community Pillars,” Libranda added.
Around 900 students have been engaged so far during the visits in Mount Carmel School of Maria Aurora, Wesleyan University-Aurora Campus, Aurora National Science High School, and Mount Carmel College-Pingit Campus. –John-Ian A. Noveras III
