CLARK FREEPORT – Various festivities await tourists and guests as this Freeport pulsate with more fun this weekend and onto the holiday season.
Among the biggest treat is the celebration of the 10th Horse Festival on November 17 to 18.
The Horsefest 2018 celebration is a yearly Freeport event which showcases a wide array of undertakings from exhibits, tours, and grand entry parade of horses, carriages, floats, iron horses and ponies which can be enjoyed by everyone. The event will be held at the El Kabayo Riding Stables near Clark Picnic Grounds, and with other side-events at the Clark Parade Grounds.
On the first day of the event, the Department of Tourism (DOT) will also host a fireworks display while there will also be an exhibit of assorted products and services at the El Kabayo grounds. The fireworks will be fired up 9 pm.
This event will also include auction and selling of horses and ponies, sales of souvenir items, merchandise, and other miscellaneous items throughout the activity.
Along with the said celebration, visitors may also enjoy the lifestyle weekend market ‘Comercio Central’ at the Parade Grounds. This lifestyle market features some 50 concessionaires with additional kiosks that showcase authentic Kapampangan dishes and products. Variety shows and music bands are also being presented in Comercio every weekend.
Other upcoming events here include sports-related activities like the Philippine International Cricket 6S tournament on November 17 to 18 and the Central Luzon German Shepherd Dog Association (CLGSDA) Pre-Seiger Show on November 17, featuring a one of a kind show by German Shepherd Dogs participants, owners and handlers.
Meanwhile, as one of the premiere arts and culture destinations in the region, different artistic versions of the Nativity Scene will also be showcased in this Freeport through a ‘Belen’ making competition and exhibition here, in time for the coming yuletide season from November 25 to January 6, 2019.
Different locator companies and national government agencies with offices in this Freeport are expected to participate in an event dubbed as “CaBelen”
Highlighting the Kapampangan spirit in time for the Christmas season, entries for the competition will be displayed along the Clark Parade Grounds. Participants are also expected to incorporate the Kapampangan hospitality in their creations’ theme.
Clark Development Corporation (CDC) in partnership with Salangian artists group led by Kapampangan artist Andy Alviz and the Clark Investors and Locators Association (CILA) will be spearheading the said event.
The launch and awarding ceremony for the winners will take place during the Clark Festival in December 1 & 2. The first prize will receive P70,000, while the second prize will be P 50,000 and the third prize for P30,000.
