CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Members of the administration political party Hugpong Ng Pagbabago (HNP) on Tuesday were welcomed by 30,000 Kapampangans during the kick-off of their campaign rally held at the Capitol grounds in this city and the Asian Convention Center in Fontana, Clark.
The opening salvo of the HNP was led by presidential daughter and Davao Mayor Sarah Duterte, along with the 13 senatorial bets of the administration.
Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda on Tuesday asked Kapampangans to give their all-out and solid support to all Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP) senatorial candidates.
“Nakikiusap ho ako sa inyo na ipakita natin ang suporta sa ating Presidente Duterte. Iboto po natin ng straight ang Hugpong senatorial line-up para magtuloy-tuloy ang pagbabago,” Vice Governor Pineda said during the election campaign kickoff rally attended by a crowd of more or less 25,000.
Another rally was set at the Asean Convention Center inside the Clark Freeport, where over 5,000 people were expected.
House Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has instructed the younger Pineda to organize the HNP rally in support of the administration’s senatorial bets.
Pineda said voting HNP senatoriables would assure an end to illegal drugs, corruption and terrorism and continuation of good governance.
Governor Lilia G. Pineda said “hosting the HNP rally is an honor,” citing the billions of funds given by the Duterte administration. “I want you to vote straight for them,” she said.
The HNP line-up consists of Bong Go, Bato de la Rosa, Dong Mangudadatu, Francis Tolentino, JV Ejercito, Jinggoy Estrada, Sen. Sonny Angara, Imee Marcos, Sen. Cynthia Villar, Pia Cayetano, Jiggy Manicad, Bong Revilla and Sen. Koko Pimentel.
Macapagal-Arroyo urged Kapampangans to give HNP bets a “landslide” win as they did in 2016 for President Duterte.
Mayor Duterte, for her part, thanked the provincial leaders for the warm welcome and support from the Kapampangans.
