23 hired in iQor, Pamp PESO JobFest

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, PAMPANGA— The Public Employment Service Office (PESO) together with iQor Philippines held a JobFest at the Benigno Aquino Hall of the Pampanga Capitol, September 13, Friday.

For years, PESO has been partnering with iQor Philippines in providing the company lists of qualified job applicants and in holding recruitment fairs.

It is also the goal of the office to provide linkage between job seekers and companies with job vacancies.

“So, si iQor kasi usually ang nangyayari sa kanya, marami siyang job vacancies. Ang ginagawa namin nilalapit namin yung mga tao—yung mga job seekers kay iQor. So ang goal namin usually is to provide employment through our employment facilities” according to Michael Gerard Regala, community affairs officer of PESO.

The industry offered customer service representative (CSR), and support and leadership positions such as supervisors, managers, and operations managers due to the company’s constant growth. Qualifications for the CSR position require applicants to have finished high school, at least, and possess good communication skills.

For some applicants, the partnership of the provincial government and a private institution like iQor is very beneficial for them since most of them reside in San Fernando area.

“Actually, napakaganda niya kasi lalo na yung mga nagjo-job hunt na medyo malapit lang, kasi ako medyo five minutes walk lang ako dito eh. So, parang hassle sa amin kung mag-aano pa kami sa mismong company nila eh dito malapit lang” Sylvia Payuao said after being hired on the spot from the JobFest.

“So para sa akin hundred percent very good ang government natin” she added.

There were a total of 55 job applicants and 23 were hired on the spot.

Apart from offering job positions to aspiring professionals, iQor has also been campaigning for a ‘Go Green’ environment.

According to Mark Francis Balajadia, a sourcing specialist of iQor, they have been giving out eco-friendly products to the company’s applicants and stakeholders. Company employees are also encouraged to bring their own utensils while plastic balloons are banned during important events.

“When we say Go Green, everything that we give away to applicants and other stakeholders are eco-friendly products. We no longer use plastics that can harm our nature” he said.

These products include bamboo flasks, wheat tumblers that last for six months, bamboo and foldable straws.

Furthermore, there are no final announcements yet for the next recruitment activity of PESO. —Ayn Nunag / PIO PAMPANGA
