Bulakenyos receive 1,900 food packs from Lower House

CITY OF MALOLOS – Bulacan Governor Daniel  Fernando and Vice Governor Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office distributed 1,900 food packs donated by the 18th Congress of the Philippines for the Muslim Community from the 1st District and Tricycle Operators and Drivers’ Association (TODA) of the City of Malolos at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium on Wednesday.

Prior the distribution, House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano spearheaded the ceremonial turnover of the food packs held at the House of Representatives, Batasan Hills, Quezon City together with the Bulacan Representatives Jose Antonio Sy-Alvarado, Lorna Silverio, Gavini Pancho and Florida Robes.

Fernando expressed his gratitude to the congress and made sure the donations will be distributed accordingly to the beneficiaries.

“Sa panahon ng pandemayang ito, sobrang halaga ng mga donasyong ibinibigay sa atin, maliit man ito o malaki. Kaya sa ngalan ng mga Bulakenyo, lubos akong nagpapasalamat sa kongreso sa tulong na kanilang inihanda para sa ating mga kapatid na Muslim dito sa lalawigan at pati sa ating mga TODA. Sinisiguro ko po na ito ay makakaabot sa kanila,” Fernando said.

The food pack donations contain assorted vegetables, frozen chicken and frozen fish for a healthier supplement.Meanwhile, Bulacan has recorded a total of 532 COVID-19 recoveries with 978 active cases as of August 5, 2020.
