An independent online survey conducted by the “Bantay Kandidato 2022” indicated that incumbent Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. is still being favored to win in the upcoming 2022 polls.
The “Bantay Kandidato 2022” online survey has only one question: “Sino ang iboboto mong mayor ng Angeles City, Pampanga?”
Of the 637 respondents as of October 5, 2021, 616 have signified their intention to support the reelection of Mayor Lazatin, who is running under Partido Federal ng Pilipinas.
His lone rival, Councilor Amos Rivera, who is running under Aksyon Demokratiko, garnered 21 supporters.
Below are some of the comments in the online survey.
During his first term, Mayor Lazatin made great strides under his administration improving the delivery of basic services and streamlining the people in the frontline that extend these services particularly during the pandemic.
Mayor Lazatin has laid down his ‘6-point Agenda’, the roadmap that defines his flagship programs for Angeles City. The ‘6-point Agenda’ are as follows:
• Ensure that Angeles City will be drug-cleared
• Access to better public health
• Solid waste management
• Education
• Youth and Sports Development
• Infrastructure Support
Mayor Lazatin did not increase taxes during his first term but improved tax collection which increased revenues, promoted “One Town, One Product”, cleared roadways and sidewalks in all 33 barangays, implemented “No Smoking Ban” and banned the use of plastic and styrofoam.
Under his health program, the administration of Mayor Lazatin conducted the anti-flu vaccination on 7,811 senior citizens, conducted Vitamin A Supplementation in 1,263 households of 16 barangays last August where some 4,179 children benefitted, issued health cards to more than 3,000 workers at the entertainment industry in Barangay Balibago,
With education and health as cornerstones of Mayor Lazatin’s ‘6-Point Agenda’, more buildings will rise up at the City College of Angeles (CCA) and ONA to accommodate more students and patients, respectively.
The local chief executive has also started the blended vaccination program in Angeles City under “Ronda Bakuna” where vaccines are being administered in the barangays; and the “Sundo Bakuna” where families are being fetch by six Philippine Rabbit buses to get vaccinated at the City College of Angeles (CCA) and the Angeles City National High School.
Some 180,320 Angeleños have already received their first dose of vaccines and another 155,831 are already fully vaccinated.
Rest assured that the Angeles City Government is one with the national government in finally eradicating the COVID-19 pandemic.”
