Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed the improvement of various local roads in Rizal, Nueva Ecija.
About P19.3 million was earmarked for road concreting works in the agricultural barangays of Casilagan, General Luna, Aglipay and Maligaya.
DPWH Nueva Ecija 1st OIC-District Engineer Armando Manabat said the infrastructures aim to provide commuters and motorists with faster mobility and convenient travel in and around the municipality.
“The development of local roads gives Rizal’s agricultural economy a big boost as it will improve the transportation and trade of farm products. We have paved a total of 4.04 lane kilometers of roads which is also expected to ensure the safe travel of the residents,” Manabat furthered.
Casilagan Punong Barangay Larry Engelito expressed satisfaction with the completion of the project because rescuers can easily reach their village in case of an emergency.
Road projects have significantly eased the struggle of residents in accessing basic services such as health, education, and trade in goods and services. (CLJD-PIA 3)
