DPWH finishes P33-M road upgrade, enhancing access to Bataan’s coastal towns

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a 2.1-kilometer asphalt overlay and preventive maintenance on Gov. JJ Linao Road in Bagac, Bataan.

Located in Barangay Banawang, the infrastructure enhances travel for both residents and tourists by providing a smoother and safer road.

DPWH Bataan 3rd District Engineer Maribel Navarro highlighted that the development also improves access to coastal towns and scenic views, boosting economic development in the area.

“The Gov. JJ Linao Road improvement project enhances travel and promotes economic development in Bataan’s coastal towns,” Navarro said.

DPWH Bataan 3rd District OIC-Assistant Engineer Henry John Morada explained that the work included clearing and grubbing, asphalt overlaying, and the application of thermoplastic paint.

“This project reflects the national government’s commitment to ensuring safe and reliable roads,” Morada added.

The P33-million road improvement was funded under the 2023 General Appropriations Act. 

The upgraded sections connect Bagac and Morong to other municipalities, facilitating better access to tourist destinations and social services while promoting economic growth. (CLJD/RPQ, PIA Region 3-Bataan)
