Bloodletting, free legal assistance mark 145th Tarlac anniversary

THE Tarlac provincial government recently held a blood-letting activity and free legal assistance as part of its 145th founding anniversary.

More than 200 blood donors from the Tarlac Police Provincial Office, soldiers from the Training and Doctrine Command of the Philippine Army, PGT employees and some walk-in individuals participated in the activity held at the Bulwagan ng mga Gobernador last May 25.

Tarlac province is a major contributor to the national blood donation program of the national government, its provincial information office said.

Around 600 inmates of the Tarlac Provincial Jail were given free legal assistance by the lawyers coming from the Tarlac chapter of Integrated Bar of the Philippines [IBP].Violation of the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act were the common cases that inmates asked lawyers for advice.

Tarlac Gov. Susan Yap thanked all the blood donors and the lawyers who participated in the two activities.

“I would like to thank all the blood donors and the lawyers for their noble deed. blood donation is a noble act that can save lives. This bloodletting will save life to our kababayans,” said Yap.

“The provincial government of Tarlac through our legal office are committed to give legal assistance to Tarlaqueños most especially to the inmates of our provincial jail,” she added.

Lawyers who rendered their free legal services were IBP President Richard Laus, Elaine Mangrobang, Karen Cayetano, Steve Russel Regua, Mykedox Knoel Cuchapin, Warren Wyndell Sarsagat, Mariemier Marcos-Rivera and Leslie Taruc-Orencia.
