Bulacan business group hails five ‘food champs’

CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan – The Bulacan Chamber of Commerce and Industry has recognized four food enterprises during the Bulacan Business Conference 2017 at The Pavillion of the Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center here.

The five food enterprises — Aparon, Albergus Catering, Santa Maria Dairy, Kalahi Pastillas, and Marky’s Prime Bake Corporation — received awards during the second day of the week-long “Singkaban Festival” on Saturday.

Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado has acknowledged the full support being given by the BCCI to small medium scale enterprise which he said is one of the catalyst for growth in the province not only for boosting economic development but also providing job oppurtunities for the people of Bulacan.

“Madaming mga masasarap na kakanin at mga pagkaing taal na galling sa dakilang lalawigan ng Bulacan at ipinagmamalaki natin ito. Binabati ko sila sa kanilang sigasig at pagpapalaganap ng mga produktong Bulakenyo, Alvarado said.

The awardees are Niña Malonzo of Aparon, Francisca Borlongan of Albergus Catering, Emeliza Laurenciana of Santa Maria Dairy, Emelita Cañasa of Kalahi Pastillas, and BCCI Director Christina Fuentes representing the Marky’s Prime Bake Corporation.

In an interview, Malonzo said the snack food Aparon has been in the market since the 1970s. Former students of the Regina Carmeli College (now La Consolacion University of the Philippines) are still craving for the Malolos-based food snack whose pouch is emblazoned with smiling little angels or “Cherubins”.

“Some of my classmates, especially those from abroad are always ordering boxes of Aparon,” Malonzo said.
