Bulacan PNP’s ‘Oplan Katok’ nets 2,431 firearms

“OPLAN Katok”” of the Bulaan PNP has netted 2,431 firearms from August 2 to November 5, 2018.

Bulacan PNP Provincial Director Sr. Supt. Chito Bersaluna said that out of 2,431 guns, 180 assorted firearms were voluntarily surrendered by gun owners from the different Police Stations of cities and towns of this province for safekeeping, three hundred fifty were renewed, while the rest are still in process of renewal.

This “Oplan Katok” is a house-to-house effort of the PNP to convince the public especially gun holders of responsible ownership and to renew their licenses before or when it expires.

Bersaluna said this effort is part of Bulacan PNP’s preparation for the upcoming 2019 Midterm Election to prevent the use of unlicensed firearms.
