Capas mayor orders local execs to undergo drug testing

Capas Mayor Reynaldo Catacutan recently issued a memorandum instructing all local government officers and employees to undergo drug testing.

Catacutan issued the order in support of the national government’s war against dangerous drugs.

“Whether a permanent, casual, probationary or job order employee, with or without position, kindly submit yourselves for testing because anyone proven a user will be given an option to reform at the Capas Bahay Pag-asa or resign,” Catacutan said in his order.

The recent drug testing was conducted on September 14 at the municipal covered court as facilitated by the Philippine National Police Crime Laboratory.

Members of the local police including barangay officials were the first to undergo drug testing in July.

“I am very hopeful that all employees will cooperate as the Capas LGU, PNP, MADACs BADACs are head-on and firm in eradicating illegal drugs in our municipality and we won’t stop until we are declared drug-free,” Catacutan said.

Meanwhile, the Capas Bahay Pag-asa is set to be blessed on October 7 before it becomes fully operational for the admission of drug surrenderees and the implementation of reformatory programs, religious activities and skills training with TESDA.
