CLARK FREEPORT – Officials and employees of Clark Development Corporation (CDC) signed up for the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) during the launch of an on-site registration activity, spearheaded by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Region III.
The onsite registration, which was held at the CDC Pavilion, began on Monday (June 28, 2021) and will end on July 2, 2021. During the first day of the activity, a total of 100 CDC personnel were enrolled in the system. More employees are expected to register in the coming days.
Meanwhile, CDC President and CEO Manuel R. Gaerlan and other CDC executives also registered for the national identification system and expressed their support for the implementation of the program.
Aside from CDC, PSA Region III has also conducted on-site registration for other institutions including the Department of Transportation (DOTr), Sun Valley Resort and Country Club, Xenia Hotel, and Air Force City among others.
Nicholo Mercado, Information Systems Analyst of PSA, shared that they aim to accommodate more institutions who want their employees to register for the national ID. An institutional registration involves Step 2 of PhilSys or the collection of biometrics. For this step, data such as fingerprints, iris scans, and photos will be required from every person.
“When it comes to institutional registration, we already proceed to step 2 and skip step 1, since step 1 is all about demographics. Step 2 only involves the collection of biometrics. So, after the collection of biometrics, we upload and send all data to the PSA Central Office for the printing of IDs. After which, Philpost will then deliver the IDs to the person’s address,” Mercado said.
The enactment of PhilSys in the country aims to establish a single national ID for all Filipinos. This ID will be useful in simplifying various transactions such as enrollment, opening of bank accounts, and other personal engagements.
Institutions who would like to have an on-site registration may send a formal letter of request to PSA at [email protected].
