CAMP AQUINO, Tarlac City, July 6 (PIA) — Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief of Staff General Benjamin Madrigal Jr urged Friday units of the Northern Luzon Command (NOLCOM) to pursue the legacy of excellence and service.

In his speech during the Change of Command Ceremony, Madrigal underscored the need to maintain a strong foothold and fulfill the AFP’s mandate which is to uphold the sovereignty and preserve the country’s patrimony.

“To our soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines, civilian personnel and reservists, I encourage you to unify your efforts to achieve the same goal that we have set. Let us replenish the seeds of efforts we have planted,” Madrigal said.

To realize this goal, the chief of staff advised the strengthening of stakeholder engagements in a bid to open more opportunities to sustain and further the gains that they have already achieved.

“Being part of the military is not an easy profession. I know that you have sacrificed a lot just to be where you are right now and I thank you for your dedication and service to our country,” Madrigal noted.

“Continue to persevere in fulfilling your sworn oath in delivering quality service, protecting the people and maintaining peace in the Philippines,” he added.
