Clark, country’s next ‘big metropolis’ – DOF

CLARK FREEPORT ZONE — Duterte administration is keen on making Clark the next big metropolis of the country through numerous big ticket infrastructure projects.

In his message during Friday’s Philippine Economic Briefing at the ASEAN Convention Center, Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez said the former American military base will be the growth driver for Northern and Central Luzon because of its international airport and freeport zone that sits at the nexus of network of expressways and soon, a railway.

“Clark captures what the Build, Build, Build Program aspires— to achieve a coherent national logistics circuit that will support our country’s rapid and inclusive development,” Dominguez furthered.

Moreover, Bases Conservation and Development Authority’s New Clark City (NCC) will bring hundreds of enterprises because it is envisioned to be the Philippines’ first and smart and green city that will highlight real estate developments, agro-industrial park and a food processing terminal.

“NCC has a National Government Administrative Center that will ensure continuous business operations and services in the country at the onset of natural disasters,” Dominguez added.
