CSF lines up activities for Women’s Month celebration

The Women’s Month celebration of the City Government of San Fernando for this year has started early with the Unveiling of Calendar of Activities held February 26.

Local Council of Women Chairperson Dr. Leticia Yap said various activities are lined up from the last week of February until the end of March.

“Napakarami po ng mga inihandang aktibidad para sa selebrasyon ngayong taon dahil dito sa San Fernando hindi tayo nahuhuli bagkus tayo ay nangunguna pagdating sa pagsulong sa mga programang mag-aangat sa mga kababaihan,” she added.

These include Press Appearances from February 26 to March 2 which will be followed by a seminar on Reproductive Health and and Teenage Pregnancy Among Students of the University of the Assumption and City College, CSFP.

On March 8, there will be a simultaneous SAKAY-LAKAD para sa Kagalingan ng Kababaihan at Kaunlaran ng Bayan, Free Pampering session, Medical and Dental Mission and Bloodletting activity.

The Forum for Northville HS and PTA officers and members will be held on March 9, 16 and 23 at the Multi Purpose Hall of Northville in Calulut.

Fernandinas will be exposed to farming through the Launching of Inter-Barangay Gulayan ng Kababaihan Contest 2018 wherein the participants will undergo Seminar on Crop Production and Protection and actual planting.

There will also be a Hilot Massage Training on March 12, Health and Wellness Seminar for City Hall Employees on March 15 and Seminar on Marketing Strategies on March 16.

Food enthusiasts are welcome to witness the LGU Inter Cluster Cooking Contest on March 16 at the City Hall Annex (former DFA Building).

The 5th Health and Wellness Program for organized Brgy. Women will be conducted on March 20 to be followed by the Women’s forum: Responsible Parenting Movement and Roving Academy: Seminar on Good Manufacturing Practices and Product and Process Improvement on the 21st and Roving Academy: Training on No Bake Cake on the 22nd.

Fernandina women’s products will be put up on sale during the three-day Go NEGO KABUHAYAN Showcase and Product Exhibition and Trade Fair in front of the City Hall from March 22-24.

Male employees of the local government will test their knowledge about the Magna Carta of Women through a Quiz Bee on March 23.

To complete the celebration, there will be a Buntis Summit for Couples on March 23, Fernandino Mompreneur Fair on March 24-25, General Assembly of the Fernandina Women’s Federation and Women with Disability Day on March 26, and lastly, a Forum for Pampanga High School Students on March 27.

In his speech, Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago said equality has already been achieved in the City of San Fernando through its programs and advocacies initiated by the Gender and Development focal point system.

“As our Women’s Month sub-theme “Fernandinang misasanmetung para keng panyulung,” suggests, the local government is now focused on different ways to empower women by engaging them in entrepreneurship which is an important source of economic growth and social development,” he added.
