Dialysis, chemo patients receive gifts from Capitol

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – Some 3,272 dialysis and chemotheraphy patients from all corners of the province gathered on Saturday to receive their early holiday gifts from the provincial government.

This holds true as the Provincial Health Office (PHO) facilitated a ‘Dialysis and Chemotheraphy Patients Assembly’ at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center here.

Each beneficiary received a gift pack which contains goods, such as hotdogs and chickens, and a cash incentive worth one thousand peso during the event.

One of the recipients of the said activity was Rose Gutierrez, a dialysis patient from the town of Macabebe.

Gutierrez lost her left leg due to diabetes, and has been undergoing medical treatment for 1 year and 2 months now.

According to her husband, Alejandro Gutierrez, they are happy to receive such assistance from the government, especially now that Christmas is fast approaching.

“Masaya ako, dahil kahit papaano ay makakatulong sa amin ito, lalo na sa kagaya naming ganito, mahirap,” he said.

Mr. Gutierrez also asked for further assistance for the continuation of his wife’s dialysis through permcath.

“Sana malagyan ng permcath ang misis ko, ‘yon lang ang hiling ko ngayong darating na pasko. Kaya lang nagkakahalaga ‘yon ng P40,000 kaya ‘di namin kaya,” he furthered.

Meanwhile, Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda, through the present board members, sent his thanks to all beneficiaries for their trust and full-support to the provincial government.

“Payabut na pu kekayu ing kayang pasalamat kareng gang bibie yung suporta, at asahan yu pu ing patuluy na pung suporta king medical assistance ning kekatamung Capitoliu para kareng Kapampangan,” said Board Member Ananias “Jun” Canlas, Jr.

Also present during the distribution were Board Members Olga Frances “Fritzie” David-Dizon, Cherry Manalo, and PDRRMO Head Angelina Blanco.

The activity was realized through the help and support of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), Provincial Treasurer’s Office (PTO), General Services Office (GSO), and Provincial Manpower Training Center (PMTC).
