DOE holds fourth E-Power Mo confab in Clark

CLARK FREEPORT ZONE — Clark played host Wednesday to the fourth E-Power Mo Smart Energy Utilization Forum and Stakeholders Conference of Department of Energy (DOE).

Energy Assistant Secretary Redentor Delola said this is the department’s campaign to empower and educate consumers on their options to be able to make wiser and more intelligent their utilization of their required energy resources.

“E-Power Mo seeks to explain the various DOE programs and projects to Filipino energy consumers. E-Power Mo is the overarching term that encapsulates our goal to be globally competitive and create wealth for all through the development of indigenous energy resources, thereby supporting our economic development,” he explained.

To further instill energy-efficient and safety practices, the DOE came up with E-Safety Mo.

“We believe that safety awareness will prevent accidents while efficiency will result in more savings,” he said.

Moreover, DOE needs to secure the planning, development, and operations aspects in the energy sector in close coordination with the consumers. Hence, the creation of E-Secure Mo, which sends a strong message—that of ensuring quality, reliability, resiliency and the affordable supply of energy services.

“To enhance the consumers’ power of choice that ranges from conventional sources to renewables and other emerging technologies and systems, we have E-Diskarte Mo,” the official furthered.

“Spreading awareness of the E-Power Mo message is one of the many ways to realize our common goals. Doable too in raising awareness is digitizing our message, especially to reach our youth who are currently the largest chunk of our growing population. We urge you to help us share the E-Power Mo message in your own little ways. From our collective steps, we can offer a sizeable contribution towards the higher cause of E-Power Mo,” Delola told attendees.

Aside from the plenary, it had six breakout sessions focusing on Downstream Oil and Natural Gas Sector, Upstream Sector, Renewable Energy Sector, Power Sector, Alternative Fuels and Energy Efficiency Sector, and Consumer Sector.

Prior to this, a similar activity was held in Metro Manila, Cebu, and Davao. (CLJD/JRAA-PIA 3)Jean Ricelle A. Aquino
