DPWH Tarlac 1st District Engineering Office completes P673M worth of road projects

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Department of Public Works and Highways Tarlac 1st District Engineering Office (DEO) completed in 2017 the construction and improvement of approximately 42 kilometers of road amounting to P673 million.

“From the figure, 4 kilometers is classified as national road, 4.45 kilometers as secondary, and the remainder are tertiary,” District Engineer Erelina Santos said.

For bridge structures, the DEO built a 31 lineal meter expanse valued at Php14 million.

“To mitigate the excessive flooding being experienced by the province during the rainy season, we undertook 28 flood control projects,” Santos added.

Moreover, 46 other infrastructure projects with an aggregate amount of Php461 million were completed.

These include farm-to-market roads (FMRs), bridges along local roads, water systems, school buildings, national buildings, multi-purpose buildings, day care centers, and health centers.

“We also completed projects funded by non-infra agencies namely the 10 kilometer FMR of Department of Agriculture amounting Php57 million, and 20 school buildings of Department of Education amounting to Php63.30 million,” Santos furthered.

The DEO covers the towns of Anao, Camiling, Gerona, Mayantoc, San Manuel, Sta. Ignacia, Pura, Victoria, Paniqui, Ramos, San Clemente, Moncada, and San Jose and the city of Tarlac. (CLJD-PIA 3)
