DTI conducts marketing strategy seminar for Bataan SMEs

Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) from different towns of Bataan attended a seminar conducted by the “Entrep Champ” here recently.

Tess Magtanong, DTI’s technical support specialist, said more than 30 participants came from the towns of Orion, Hermosa, Bagac, Abucay, Mariveles, Orani, and the city of Balanga whp underwent lessons about marketing strategies.

Paulo Tibig, popularly known in the business world as the “Entrep Champ,” served as the resource speaker.

DTI Bataan provincial director Nelin Cabahug said the seminar is part of the SME Roving Academy (SMERA), a continuous learning program for the development of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to become competitive in the domestic and international markets.

Its main strategies contain integration of the business development services for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) at the national and local levels; stablishment of the Provincial, Regional, and National Entrepreneurship Development Networks; and management of an inclusive promotion program.

Personnel from DTI’s partner agencies namely Beth Gabon of SSS, Rowena Suverano and Maan May Romero of Philhealth and Ms. Laarni Macaspac of Pag-IBIG also attended the seminar and discussed their agency’s role in their respective businesses. –Mhike Cigaral
