DTI holds OTOP Next Gen Phase 2 in Tarlac

Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) conducted the second phase of One Town, One Product Next Generation (OTOP NG) Product Development in Tarlac City.

This was a follow-up activity of the one-on-one product development consultation in August wherein designers presented proposed lay-outs and styles to 23 micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) who participated in the activity.

DTI OIC-Provincial Director Florencia Balilo stressed that the activity aims to help MSMEs market and further improve the quality of their products.

“With these OTOP NG Sessions, we hope to boost the interest of the market in the brick and mortar and virtual stores of the MSMEs, as well as help in the promotion and sales generation of the products and services they offer,” Balilo said.

During the session, Ryan Hope Bautista tackled Visual Merchandising, and discussed the different considerations in preparing physical and virtual stores for trade fairs and other marketing activities.

Pointers on maximizing mobile photography in social media marketing were also shared by Bautista.

Participants were given an opportunity to create a mock set-up of their products to gauge their readiness in designing and preparing their own physical stores, virtual booths or selling areas.

OTOP NG includes a series of activities to assist MSMEs compete in the local and global markets through product innovation. (CLJD/TJBM-PIA 3)
