TRECE MARTIREZ, CAVITE – A former overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) in Taiwan on Tuesday was arrested after claiming eight kilos of imported shabu worth P55,200,000 in Barangay Hugo Perez, Trece Martirez town, Cavite.
The PDEA Pampanga identified the suspect as Michael Florendo, 36, of Golden Horizon Courty, Barangay Hugo Perez, Trece Martirez.
Operating teams said the package containing shabu arrived at the Port of Clark on December 17, 2023.
“The parcels containing the illegal drugs emanated from Long Beach, California, USA, and was consigned to Florendo. The discovery of the illicit items prompted us in launching a controlled delivery operation, ” the PDEA said.
The operation was conducted by joint operatives of the PDEA Pampanga Provincial Office, PDEA Clark AIU, PDEA ICFAS, Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Clark, PDEA Cavite PO, and the local police.
Florendo, who is now detained at PDEA-3 Jail facility in City of San Fernando, Pampanga, will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165.
