Exclusive: Chinese carnapper arrested in Subic Freeport

HERMOSA, Bataan — A Chinese national was arrested by Subic police after he allegedly tried to take away a van in Barangay Tipo of this municipality inside the Subic Bay Freeport Zone, Sunday afternoon.

In a report from Hermosa police chief, Police Major Jeffrey Onde, the suspect was identified as Bin Zhang, 24, single, with present address at Silver City 4 Condominium, Frontrera Drive, Pasig City.

“Ihahatid ko sana sila sa Subic galing kaming Pasay nang sinabi iihi daw sila tapos tinutukan niya ako ng cutter tapos tinangay na yung minamaneho kong van,” the complainant, Jorge Villanueva, 40, a resident of Kawit, Cavite, told this reporter in an exclusive interview.

Villanueva sought the help of Subic Police that led to the arrest of the suspect and was later turned over to Hermosa municipal police office.

As of press time, the suspect, the complainant, the van and another Chinese colleague are at the custody of Hermosa police for proper documentation.

The police found it hard to communicate with the said foreigners because none of them know how to speak English.

The involved Chinese nationals, according to the police investigation from the complainant were allegedly about to be deployed in an online gaming company carrying only student visas.
