MARIVELES, Bataan– Around 15 families are directly or indirectly affected from a landslide that transpired, Friday afternoon in Purok 6, Barangay Ipag, Mariveles, Bataan.
This was confirmed by their local disaster and risk reduction office following continuous monsoon rains brought by typhoon Hanna.
“For now, force evacuation for the safety of residents of Barangay Ipag in anticipation of landslide because of visible cracks,” Provincial Information Officer Angel Ortiz Luis told this reporter citing a report from Bataan PDRRMO.
Larry Biscocho, a Net25 TV correspondent, said most of the houses affected were empty because most of the residents were at their workplace when the said incident happened.
Most of the houses in the area are below the main road.
“Yung style ng mga bahay pababa sa ibabaw ng kalsada, yung tubig sa kalsada sinisipsip ng lupa hanggang gumuho yung lupa pero napigil ng pader ng isang bahay,” Biscocho added based on his interview with the residents. — Photos courtesy of Larry Biscocho —
