Japanese toys invade SM City Pampanga

THE Hottest Japanese toys have made their way to SM City Pampanga, giving enthusiasts a rare opportunity to play with the toys, snap a shot, join free games and shop for some cool collectibles.

This awesome toy fest event is the first at SM City Pampanga.

TOMICA toys were featured on July 15 to 17; Pokémon on July 29-31; and Gundam on August 5 to 7 in an exhibit at the Global Fashion Wing.

TOMICA is a line of die-cast toy vehicles and related products produces by Takara Tomy Co. of Japan. Its story starts back in 1970, when model cars mainly referred to imported scale models of foreign cars or larger scale model Japanese cars for collectors.

Gotta catch ‘em all! Pokémon, both the video games and the general fictional world of Pokémon, stems from the hobby of insect collecting, a popular pastime which Pokémon executive director Satoshi Tajiri enjoyed as a child. Players are designated as Pokémon Trainers and have two general goals: complete the Pokédex by collecting all of the available Pokémon species found in the fictional region where a game takes place, and train a team of powerful Pokémon from those they have caught to compete against teams owned by other Trainers and eventually win the fictional Pokémon League. These themes of collecting, training, and battling are present in almost every version of the Pokémon franchise, including the video games, the anime and manga series, and the Pokémon Trading Card Game.

Make way for the giant robots of Gundam, a science fiction media franchise created by Sunrise that feature giant robots or “mecha” called “mobile suits”, with titular mobile suits that carry the name “Gundam.”

Visit the awesome Japanese Toy Fest on July 29-31 for Pokémon and on August 5 to 7 for Gundam at the Global Fashion Wing.
