Girlie Tumang of Lawy National High School topped the Virtual Consumer Welfare Month (CWM) Quiz Bee of Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Tarlac.
She bested 14 other participants wherein questions were derived from Consumer Rights and Responsibilities, Consumer Act of the Philippines, Sustainable Development Goals, and other Fair-Trade Laws.
DTI OIC-Provincial Director Florencia Balilo said CWM is celebrated every October to empower and educate consumers in their purchasing decisions.
“The theme is very timely as it focuses on two important concepts – sustainability and digitalization,” she added.
Veatriz Vanz Cruz of Dapdap High School finished second while Lhea Tucaqui of Jose V. Yap National High School ended third.
Tumang will represent the province in the Regional Quiz Bee which will be held on October 21.
