LPA likely to enter PAR Thursday

MANILA – The low pressure area (LPA) outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) last tracked 1,085 kilometers east of the Visayas may enter within the day, the weather bureau said Thursday.

Aldczar Aurelio of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the LPA is also likely to develop into a tropical depression.

Once it becomes a tropical depression, it will be named “Maring”, Aurelio said.

Generally fair weather with isolated rains will prevail over most parts of the archipelago, Aurelio said. However, the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) affecting Luzon and the Visayas will cause cloudy skies and scattered rains.

This weather condition, as well as thunderstorms, will be experienced over Ilocos Region, Bataan, Zambales, and Samar provinces.

“The rest of Luzon, including Metro Manila, will have a generally good weather, but there will be isolated rains,” Aurelio said.

PAGASA forecast the rest of the country to have isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will prevail over the western sections of northern and central Luzon.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas.
