Mabalacat cop chief wants CCTVs in city

The Mabalacat City police, led by Supt. Juritz Rara, have appealed to the Peace and Order Council (POC) chaired by Mayor Marino Morales to install close circuit television (CCTV) cameras in strategic areas in the city to monitor the activities of their constituents.

“Imo-monitor natin sila para maalis ang opportunity na gumawa sila ng katarantaduhan. Ilalagay ko yun sa opisina para mahiya sila kapag nahuling nag-aabutan,” said Rara during the first meeting of the POC held at Sapphire Hall, Xevera Lot in Barangay Tabun.

The police chief also requested for the creation of a Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team composed of skilled policemen.

“Bubuuin rin po and Mabalacat-Clark Tourist Police dahil marami pong turista ang mga dumadagsa sa Clark at sila po ang bahala sa seguridad sa loob since 90% ng Clark ay sa Mabalacat,” he added.

Based on a police report, a total of 1,993 illegal drug pushers and users have surrendered from the Oplan Double Barrel and Double Barrel Alpha from July 1, 2016 to January 18.

For his part, Morales with the city council has vowed to provide the funding for the peace and order projects and programs in the city.
