P6.8M worth of shabu seized in Zamboanga; 3 arrested

Three high-value targets were arrested during a buy-bust operation in Zamboanga City that also resulted in the seizure of methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, worth P6.8 million.

 Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Director General Aaron N. Aquino identified the suspects as Bennajir Juhaili y Palahuddin, alias Utoh, Romel Alidjam y Andam, and Rano Talib y Amirol, all high-value target drug personalities.

The suspects were arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted by joint operatives of PDEA Regional Office IX (PDEA RO IX) under the supervision of Director Jacquelyn N. de Guzman, and PDEA Regional Office BARMM (PDEA RO BARMM) at around 5:00 PM on July 11, 2019 in Morning Breeze, Barangay Tugbungan, Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Sur.

Seized during the operation were one piece of heat-sealed transparent plastic pack containing suspected shabu weighing more or less one kilogram, with an estimated value of Php6,800,000.00, two pieces of cellophane plastic, one piece of brown paper bag, one Toyota Corolla vehicle, one Honda motorcycle, and the buy-bust money.

The suspects will be charged for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), and Section 26 (Conspiracy to Sell), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
